Glenn W. "Jim" Waller III, 64 of Mohnton, PA, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Glenn W. Waller, Jr. and Marie M. (Hilbert) Waller. Glenn was a 1964 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and a graduate of York Jr. College. Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as an accountant for High Concrete & A. G. Kurtz & Sons, Denver. He later became a full time antique dealer, most recently working at the German Trading Post, Denver. Surviving in addition to his mother, is his companion Sandy, a daughter Angela of Nevada ; a brother, John T. "Jack" Waller husband of Cindy of Conestoga; a niece Christina Waller of Lancaster; a nephew, Christopher Waller also of Lancaster. A Christian Prayer Service will be held Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Thomas Smith as Celebrant. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer "Ike" Walton and Nell Reeves Walton. Isabelle was a trainee at the Occupational Development Center in Lancaster for forty years. She was a voracious reader, especially enjoying mysteries and biographies. She enjoyed watching movies and listening to music. She traveled extensively in her younger years to Europe, the British Isles, Alaska, Hawaii and the contiguous United States. She was a patron of the arts with season tickets to both the Fulton Theatre and the Dutch Apple Theatre. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Isabelle is survived by her sister, Roberta Walton of Quarryville. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Walton Brooks. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11AM from St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602, the Rev Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. Estella was the wife of the late Scott Waters who died in 2003 and the late Harry Parmer who died in 1981. She was a member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church. Estella retired from the Mennonite Home as a CNA after 26 1/2 years. Estella was a graduate of Penn Manor High School. Surviving are 4 children, Donald L. Parmer, Dale E. Parmer, husband of Kathy, Darlene A. Snyder, wife of Jeff, all of Lancaster, and Harry P., husband of Barb, Trabuco Canyon, CA. Eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Two sisters Janet Rankin, wife of Milt, and Arlene Martin Manista, wife of Raymond, both of Lancaster. Estella was preceded in death in death by a sister, Ruth Mae Warfel and a brother M. Elvin M. (Ted) Weems, 83, of Manheim Township, Lancaster, PA. died at Hospice, Mt. Joy, PA. on April 23, 2009. He was preceded in death by two children, Daniel and Theresa. Born on June 12, 1925 in Point, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, Ted was one of nine children of Daniel E. Weems and Francis Teal Weems. Raised in rural Louisiana, Ted knew the value of hard work. At 18 years old Ted joined the US Army and was assigned to the Pacific Theatre with Company B, 1st Infantry. Ted received Bronze Stars for "Valor" and with oak leaf clusters. He was also awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal with two Bronze Arrowheads and two Purple Hearts from WWII and Korea service. He was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant. Ted was a life time member of Disabled American Veterans. Ted retired from Alcoa, Lancaster after 34 years of service and then worked at Weis markets for 15 years. The ballgame on the radio, Ted was always working on a project or doing extra work. He was surrounded by family at his death that will mourn eternally.

Margaret B. “Peg” Witmer, 94
Margaret B. "Peg" Witmer, 94, of Lancaster, passed away at Hamilton Arms Center on Monday, October 15, following a 6-month illness. Born in Columbia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Bowers (originally Bauer) and Magdalena Thomas Bowers. All four of Peg's grandparents were immigrants from Bavaria, Germany, and she enjoyed relating their stories of "the old country" to her children and grandchildren. As a child and young adult she was a member of "the German church"-Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Columbia, and attended Holy Trinity Elementary / Junior High School. After graduating from Columbia High School in 1936, she worked in several Columbia garment factories, becoming renowned for her sewing ability. In 1946, Peg married Harold "Butch" Witmer of Strasburg and Lancaster, whom she had dated before World War II, and whom had just returned home after four years around the world with the U.S. Navy. Peg worked in the clerical pool at Armstrong Cork Company in Lancaster, and as a volunteer at Sacred Heart School in Lancaster where her children attended. She was a 60-year member of Sacred Heart Church in Lancaster. Peg enjoyed watching the Phillies, football, golf and ice-skating on T.V., spending time with her family and going to Myrtle Beach.
