Tamara Leah Wilson, 56

June 06, 2019

Tamara Leah Wilson, 56, of Ephrata, passed away on June 6, 2019. Tam was born February 28, 1963, in Coatesville, PA. She graduated from Coatesville High School in 1981; majored in pre-engineering at Wesley College from 1981-1982; and graduated from York College of Pennsylvania in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a minor in Management. She married her sweetheart, James (Jim) T Wilson Jr on April 23, 1993. They were married for 26 years.

While raising two wonderful children, she also had a full-time career for 32 years with State Farm Insurance Company. Since 2002, she operated her own State Farm Agency in Strasburg PA. Although her formal training was engineering, her true passion was all about helping people. Tam touched hundreds of people through her work – helping families be financially okay when losses occurred. Her community involvement included: board member at Conestoga Valley Community Center; various committees for Conestoga Valley Education Foundation; President of Swim Team Boosters for Conestoga Valley High School; and board member at Lancaster Aquatic Club. She was fun loving, lived for family, and was so proud of her children.

Tam was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Wagner Parrott; father-in-law James T Wilson Sr; and brother-in-law Robert Wilson.

Tam is survived by husband James T Wilson Jr; daughter Catherine Wilson; son James T (Todd) Wilson III; father Ronald Parrott; mother-in-law Betty Wilson; brother Ronald and wife Joanne Parrott; sister Rhonda and husband Terry Schwarz; sister Rebecca and husband David Dinius; 8 nieces and nephews; and 4 great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 2PM on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Charles F Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Travis Manion Foundation, dedicated to helping veterans, 164 E State St Ste 1, Doylestown PA 18901 or online at donate.travismanion.org; or to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network www.pancan.org, in memory of Tamara Leah Wilson.

To the family of Tam:
Our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you all! We lost a wonderful person who was filled with genuine kindness and professionalism in everything she did. She was an honest businesswoman who was never pushy but sought out the best for her client. We were long time State Farm customers because our father, John Rineer, thought the world of Tamara and encouraged us to go with her. Her legacy lives on in her family as well as customers she touched personally. May you find peace in knowing she’s not suffering any more and she’s touched many ❤️ forever.
Sincerely,
Bev Doughty and family

My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this difficult time.  I had heard about Tammy’s illness 2 years ago and she has been in my prayers ever since.  I knew Tammy from State Farm as our career paths crossed many times.  I’ll always remember her great smile, happy personality, and great hair! Tammy will be missed from our world but has now become an angel in an adjacent world where she can watch over her loved ones.  May God’s grace give you all the comfort, love, and support.  Warmest Regards.

To the family and friends of Tam.  I knew Tam as our State Farm Agent since she took over the Strasburg Office.  She had been my parents agent and seen me through their passing. Unfortunately, she never got to me my sister who passed in 2001.  I have many fond memories of Tam, including see her at Cruisin OC one year with my Mom.  I will always remember her smile.  Unfortunately, I can’t attend her service, as I will hopefully be in Harrington DE at the SDSR Jamboree with my Mom’s Camaro which is what Tam would remember my family for – the cars! Prayers and Blessings to the family and former co-workers.

Though I only knew Tam through State Farm (as our agent) I always thought of her as a friend. I enjoyed our conversations and felt as though she truly cared about me (& my family). I felt sad upon hearing of her battle with cancer and thought of her often. I know she will be truly missed. Sympathy to her family & friends. Brenda Fay

Words cannot Express the sadness Bill & I feel at the loss of Tam ! She was not only our State Farm Insurance Agent but a very dear, close friend. She watched our family grow over the years. She always helped us in deciding what coverages we needed concerning home, car, & life insurances, as well as retirement! We spent many times just talking and laughing about life events. And she always asked how our grandkids were doing and wanted to know the latest silly story we had for her…lol. And when we had the fire at our home 2 years ago she was the first person to come out to see the damage and get us on the fast track to the rebuild. To Tam’s family and friends all of our love, thoughts & prayers are sent to you! She was an amazing woman who positively impacted every person she came in contact with. We will miss her so very much!
