Gaynell M. Wimer, 80

Gaynell M. Wimer 80, formerly of Leola, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at Conestoga View. Born in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Ott. She was raised by her foster parents the late Arthur and Lucy Mendenhall.

A graduate of Solanco High School, Gaynell worked as a seamstress for a local sewing factory and then as a hospice nurse’s aide. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister for Sunday and daily Mass and a choir member. Gaynell enjoyed word puzzles.

Gaynell is survived by a sister-in-law Janet Ott of New Holland, a nephew David Ott, Jr of New Holland, a niece Tracy Lind of Landisville, a great-niece Jennifer Boaman of Lancaster and her very dear friend Margaret A. Flick of Leola. Her brother David Ott preceded Gaynell in death.

A viewing will be held 10-11 AM, followed by an 11 AM Mass with Rev. Patrick McGarrity, C.SS.R. as Celebrant, on Friday, November 7, 2014, in the Chapel at Conestoga View, 900 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Building Fund, 150 Water St., New Holland, PA 17557.

I am so soory for your loss. I was a lector a long time ago  with Gaynell.  I started having trouble with my legs ,that’a\s why I stopped. I now live in E-lizabethtown and saw this in the newpaper. Please accept my condolences. She was a good woman,I’ll miss her. Margaret I remember you were a dear friend  God called her home now she doesn’t hurt she is with God.  I have remarried  My name is Denise Clissold now   maybe you would remember me with the name Zuschmidt     Take care  Denise and Mike
