Paula Mae Wakefield, 72

Paula Mae Wakefield (Shelley) of Lancaster, Pa, passed away on December 30, 2015 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, after a very brief battle with cancer. She was 72.
Paula was born in York, PA on May 25, 1943 and was the daughter of Roy and Minnie Shelley. She graduated from York High School in 1961.
Paula was married to Donald Ross Wakefield on April 10, 1966 and they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage together this year.
She loved gardening, golfing and travel and was a lifetime member of the Wrightsville Historical Society as well as the Garden Club. She also loved spending time with her granddaughters, Sarah and Caroline and cherished every moment that she had with them.
She is survived by her husband Donald, her daughter Heather Spire and husband Bill of Lancaster and granddaughters, Sarah and Caroline Spire. She is also survived by her brother Darvin Shelley and wife Jane; brother Donald and her brother Dawson and his wife Debbie; sister Linda Keller and husband Rod and sister Barbara Roseberry.
Paula was preceded in death by her father Roy Shelley, her mother Minnie Beaverson Shelley, brothers Dwight and Dale and her step mother, Lola.
The family of Paula wishes to thank Dr. Randall Oyer for his ongoing support, the entire team of doctors, nurses and aides who were so caring and supportive at Hospice of Lancaster, as well as the many friends, neighbors and family who went above and beyond what anyone could have ever asked for.
Paula requested that there be no funeral, so a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to either the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602 or Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Donald: Paula work for me as a courier at B-H Computer Systems. She always had a big smile each morning. I think she enjoyed driving and seeing the customers each day. I knew things would get deliverd on time when Paula was there. You take care. Dick Brown
