Ronald R. Webb Jr., 31

Ronald R. Webb Jr., 31, formerly of Lancaster, PA, passed away on July 27, 2006, from a severe asthma attack, in Atlanta, GA.  He was born June 6, 1975 in Orangeburg, SC to Ronald and Jennifer Webb.  Affectionately known as Popie to family and friends, Ronald moved to Lancaster, PA in 1984. His “mother” Gwen P. Glover and his “uncle” Buddy Glover raised Popie. He graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1993 and attended Millersville University.

While in Lancaster, Popie was actively involved in sports especially, football.  He was a member of McCaskey’s 1991 Championship Football team, where he played fullback and middle linebacker. Formerly a member of Bright Side Baptist Church, Popie served as a Junior Trustee, Usher and sang on the Young Adult Choir.    He also was very active with the Boys and Girls Club.

Popie relocated to Atlanta, GA in December 2005 and was employed by Transouth Logistics, as a forklift operator and title cutter.  He recently united with Beulah Baptist Church in Ellenwood, GA.

He will be lovingly missed by his “mother” Gwen Glover, Lancaster, PA; “uncle” Buddy Glover, Lancaster, PA; fiancée Alexia Brown of Ellenwood, GA; and children: R’Nija Webb Dean, of Baltimore, MD; Fayjoun, Jensen and Skyy Webb, and Terrell Brown, all of Ellenwood, GA.  He is also survived by brothers: Tyrone Green, of WV; Smokey and Benson Glover, Jameel and Alimayu Thrash all of Lancaster, PA; a sister Nikki Green of VA; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Elizabeth Green and his nanny Romaine Glover Banks.

Funeral Services will be held at Bright Side Baptist Church, 515 Hershey Ave. Lancaster on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 1:00PM. Interment in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church from 11:00AM – 1:00PM. Contributions may be in Popie’s memory to the American Lung Association of PA, 630 Janet Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603.
