Albert “Al” G. Wallander, 73

Albert “Al” G. Wallander, 73, of Lancaster, died Monday, October 12, 2015, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Quincy, MA to the late Sven G. and Edith L. (Hayes) Wallander, he was the loving husband of Catherine (Ruprecht) Wallander, with whom he celebrated 47 years of marriage.
Al served in the US Airforce from 1961 to 1965. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a welder with High Steel and also worked for Jack Williams Tires and Manheim Auto Auction.
In addition to his wife, Al is survived by two children: James Wallander, husband of Amy, of Lebanon, and Rhonda Wallander Sheffy, of Landisville. He is also survived by three grandchildren and his brother, David Wallander, of California.
A time of gathering will be held from 2-4PM, on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Al’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
