Barbara J. (Bobbi) Weaver, 61

Barbara J. (Bobbi) Weaver, 61, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday afternoon at home, in the company of her beloved family. She succumbed after a lengthy illness and died as she lived, with dignity and without complaint.

Bobbi was born in Trenton, N.J., in 1947, the daughter of Clifford H. and Elizabeth G. Spooner. She is survived by her husband of 36 ½ years, G. Robert Weaver, Lancaster, Pa..; her mother, Lancaster, Pa; a sister, Robin Cramer, wife of William, Burlington, NJ; two sons, Brad  and Josh ,husband of Andrea, all of Lancaster. She is also survived by her nephew, Eric Cramer of Aberdeen, MD.

A graduate of Northern Burlington Regional High School, Columbus, NJ, in 1965, she was a member of the National Honor Society. Bobbi received her BA in French from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa in 1969, having spent her junior year abroad studying in Paris, France. In 1984, she received an Associates’ Degree from Bucks County Community College, Newtown, Pa, in computer science.

She began her professional career as an elementary school teacher during the 1969-70 school year in the Pemberton Twp (NJ) School District. Her career path included employment as a reading specialist in the Pennsbury (Pa) School District and as a computer programmer for Cenlar Capital Corporation, Ewing, NJ, and Old Guard Insurance Co. in Lancaster. At the time of her death, she was on disability from Case New Holland, Racine, Wisconsin, where she worked in Dealer Sales Support.

Bobbi enjoyed the simpler things of life such as gardening, reading, dining out with her husband and friends, entertaining friends and family, lengthy phone chats with her sister, and traveling in the continental U.S. Sitting on her deck during a warm, sunshiny day with a glass of wine and a good book was a great day for her.

A memorial service will be held for Bobbi at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Lancaster Friends Meeting House, located at 110 Tulane Terrace, Lancaster, PA.

I have only fond memories of Bobbi’s sweet and gentle nature from our four years together at Juniata College, including our junior year abroad in Strasbourg. May all of your wonderful memories bring you comfort as you grieve the passing of this gentle soul. May her spunk and sense of humor make you laugh when all you want to do is cry. And may you find healing knowing that you are surrounded by love and wishes of caring.  With Caring, Janine Everhart Katonah, Oak Park, Illinois.

Lisa and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I am so glad I met Bobbi during her visit to Florida. I enjoyed my time with her and can see why your so proud of her. With love, your friends, Tom and Jenny Dillon

"Class of 61"   Thinking and praying for you and your family.

A kinder gentler person I don’t think I knew.
Geographic distance separated us most of our lives but the distance did not keep her far from my thoughts and prayers.  As always,  is the regret of time lost and words not spoken. May the Lord keep you in His hand And never close His fist too tight
 Nancy
