Condolences to the Family

October 22, 2015

Eric was a classmate at Valley Forge. We started VF together, were in the same company, took German together, took summer science together. And one afternoon, we stood at attention together on the Main Area, just us, “repenting for our sins”. Oh, those were the days.
Rest in Peace, My Friend.

Cindy,
I was so sorry to hear about Eric. My prayers go out to you and your whole family. I think he was the BEST boss ever .   Kathy Ritchie

Dear Cindy and family …

I was so sad to see Eric’s picture in the paper, and learn that he passed away at such a young age. He was an unusual man — a wonderful "people" person, always willing to help, always smiling and friendly — Long after our business affiliation, Eric printed Barney’s 90th birthday invitation, full of family photos, and class, in 4/color.  I don’t know if you remember me coming into the office, but my heart goes out to you, what a sad loss this is for you and Mike.
May glorious memories you surely must have of your life with Eric, comfort you and give you strength,
as you reconstruct what to do next.  This is devastating loss, our heartfelt condolences,

Barney and Evelyn Epstein

Mrs. Whitmore,

My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your husband.  Eric undoubtedly was a wonderful and kind man.  He was very much a part of the Stoyer family and he will live on in the memories we all share.

With Love,
Samantha Stoyer

Dear Cindy, Mike & Phil,
Please accept my most sincere sympathy for your loss of such a wonderful man.  It has been my pleasure and high honor to have known Eric for over these past 30 years. Regardless of what was going on, he always had time, a smile and a laugh for me and I was proud to have been a friend. He was a Renaissance man in a world of specialists: an intellectual, a businessman, a world-class athlete, a true gentleman, and a truly gentle man.  All who knew him will miss him.
Dale Schober

Dear Cindy,
We were so sorry to hear about Eric’s death.  We enjoyed getting to meet you through the Whitmore Reunions and newsletters. We wanted to express our sympathy and tell you that we are praying for you and your family.  I know it is a difficult time when you lose someone you love. Eric will be sorely missed.  I hadn’t realized he was a gymnast and avid golfer.
We were looking forward to the next Whitmore Reunion being up in the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Take care and know that we are thinking of you.

Margaret and Curtis Foltz

Dear Cindy,
My wife and I want to send our deepest sympathy to you, Mike, and Phil.

Having worked with Eric on and off since the 80’s, he was "THE" one I ran to for with business questions…you know.the how should , what should I do.
And Eric would stop from what he was doing, look at me , ask questions, then give me some of the best advise I have every been given.
Personally, he and I, over the years ,laughed together at many things.

The one situation that occured ofter….When I had something VERY important to send a business person, I always had him proof it.
You should know many pens have been worn out over the years from his corrections on my masterpieces……He attacked my grammar…..Most time I went away embarrassed…but I chuckled at the same time…YOU can’t get bad grammar past Eric. I laugh every time I think of it.
Eric was a wonderful , sharing man. And I am honored to have met; worked; and known him.

I wish you ; Mike; and Phil my warmest thoughts and Sincere sympathy.

Bob T.

Cindy and Family:  I was so sorry to hear of Eric’s passing.  I know he was having quite a hard time, as were you.  I know that the God he is with, will be the God that gets you through this.  God Bless you all.

Dear Cindy, Michael, Philip and Family:
We were very sorry to read about the passing of Eric, your husband, father and grandfather. We want you to know we are thinking and praying for you in your time of grief. Words are poor things when we suffer the loss of a loved one. Still we want to convey our desire to offer consolation. We will remember Eric in the good times we spent together over the years as our boys were growing up together. And of course Eric’s infectious laughs we all shared together. Please accept our deepest sympathy for all of the family.

Fondly,
Ann, Terry, David, and Michael McGuigan

Cindy and Family:

I am so very sorry for your loss; all of us that knew E. share in that loss. I was informed of his passing but was out of town this weekend and did not realize the services were yesterday and today. I just founds out. It is my "bad". I so much appreciated our recent dinner together. It meant more to me than you could know. I want to assure you it was my intent to be there for the services and I feel terrible. There is no excuse except I was not on the ball. I hope when I catch up to E. he forgives me.
My love and thoughts,
Jeff Gray

Dear Cindy and family: I am sorry for this late posting, however, I wanted to pay tribute to Eric in a profound manner which would reflect on how deeply I admired and loved him. After much reflection, I realize that I can say nothing better. Eric was my friend and he was a "giver", not a taker. Bev and I extend our sympathy to you and your family. Dave and Bev Yoder.

We are so sorry for your loss. Eric was a true gentleman.

I was saddened to read of Eric’s death in this morning’s newspaper. Please accept my hearfelt condolences.

I knew Eric in the context of being the editor of a small newsletter for E-town College’s Young Center. When looking for a printer for this new newsletter, colleagues at the college directed me to Whitmore Printing. It was a wonderful recommendation! Although my newsletter was a very small project (only 1100 copies and published only twice a year), Eric always spent whatever time was necessary to print the job successfully and to help me make it a better product. That was a generous gift to me and to the Young Center. On several occasions, he enthusiastically spent time showing me tips for enhancing the photos, diagnosing and fixing problems I had using the dtp software, etc. To me, Eric was the epitome of a small business owner: involved, energetic, and very customer-focused. I always enjoyed coming to the office to drop off or proof my jobs, and I appreciated and learned from each of my encounters with Eric. (Even after the business was sold and I no longer had occasion to interact with him directly, Eric was instrumental in ironing out initial problems with printing my newsletter at the Standard Group.)

Certainly all of you–his family–will miss him greatly. Please know that his customers share your loss.

Sincerely,
Cynthia Nolt

Dear Cindy,

Please accept my very deepest sympathy in the passing of your husband, Eric.
I am asking God to grant you that deep-down peace that passes all understanding– that peace that can only come from Him.

Sincerely,
Ann Gallagher (front office girl at MMZ –the one who went to HS with Barbara Caruana!)

With fond memories of Eric as a teenager and a fine young man, I send my sincere condolences to his family.  May God Bless You All.

Cindy and Mike,

Sorry I cannot be there in your time of need.  You have my most heartfelt condolences for your loss of Eric.  Just two days younger than myself, he went far too young.  In my five years at Whitmore, I always felt that he was more than just my boss.  Again, even though I’m a thousand miles away, I am with you in spirit.

David Shenk

I am sorry for the loss of your brother.  I too lost my brother at age 57 to cancer.  I think you and I are neighbors.  I live at 117 Greentree Drive in New Holland on Himes Hill.  I am under the impression that you build a home back a lane off of Hill Road.  Small world.

My sympathies for your loss.
Pam Kempfle
