The number of individuals electing to pre-plan their funeral arrangements has increased year after year. But in talking with our Lancaster County neighbors, we find that so many would like to know more about what’s involved with pre-arranging a funeral but don’t know the best way to go about it.
To make it easy, and perhaps even a little enjoyable, we hold Lunch and Learn events throughout the year at various local restaurants.
The Lunch and Learn program is a casual and relaxed luncheon that we hold at local restaurants about once a month. Our pre-planning specialists bring together about 25 people at a time who are interested in learning more about pre-arranging or pre-funding their funeral. The groups are small, the setting is relaxed, and the presentations are easy to follow and understand. Questions are encouraged throughout the program.
During our short presentation (30 minutes or so), visitors get a great lunch and have a chance to ask any questions that come to mind. The group setting often sparks new questions and leads to new topics of conversation — ideal for getting the most out of a short time to meet.
Afterwards, those in attendance can go home and consider whether pre-planning is right for them, or if they have more questions to ask our pre-planning specialists.
Kelly Townsend and Jackie Adamson, both licensed Funeral Directors, are our pre-planning specialists. They conduct our Lunch and Learn informational meetings throughout the year, providing valuable information about pre-arranging funeral details in a casual environment.

If you’d like a pre-planning professional to come to your company or organization to speak about the benefits of pre-arranging a funeral, we’d be happy to do so. Just email email@example.com or call (717) 560-5100 to share your thoughts and ideas.
Lancaster's Central Market is a Tuesday morning tradition for our family. My daughters, Emma and Caroline look forward to strolling down the aisles as we buy our produce, meats, cheeses and flowers from the different stand holders. Our trips to Market are very special to me because it shows my daughters the importance of community, shopping local, and the value of spending quality time together. — Kelly Townsend Licensed Funeral Director, Pre-Planning Assistant
