Theresa M. Witkowski, 87

Theresa M. Witkowski, 87, of Lancaster, went home to The Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Shenandoah, PA, Theresa was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Snarski) Namiotka.

Her husband of 63 years, Anthony J. Witkowski, went to The Lord on April 3, 2015. Surviving Theresa are their three sons, Warren J. Witkowski of Salisbury, NH, Mark J. Witkowski of Lancaster and Steven A. Witkowski, husband of Amy of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Paige, Stuart, Peter and Ian; and her sister-in-law, Eleanor of Shenandoah. Theresa was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.

Theresa had been a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital for 35 years. She was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church. Along with husband Anthony and three others, Theresa started the Perpetual Adoration at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Perpetual Adoration celebrated its’ 20th anniversary, May 1st 2016.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Robert Shultz for his many years of compassionate care and friendship to both Theresa, and her late husband Anthony. In addition, the family would like to thank St. Anne’s Retirement Community for their kind treatment for Theresa.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 AM Thursday, April 6, 2017 at St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville, Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603, with The Rev. Lawrence W. Sherdel as Celebrant. A viewing will be held 10 to 11 AM at the church. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Theresa’s name to your local food bank.
