Rick L. Wingenroth, 63

September 11, 2016

Rick L. Wingenroth, 63, passed away at his Manheim Township residence, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 11, 2016. He was born in Lancaster to the late Theodore and Patsy (Rohrer) Wingenroth. Rick was the husband of Sharon (Dunlap) Wingenroth for 22 years.

As the owner of 3-D Painting for 35 years, Rick’s commitment to quality and customer service was unparalleled. He attended Redeemer Lutheran Church. Rick was a graduate of Penn Manor High School (class of 1971), and he participated on the wresting team.

A dedicated family man, Rick was most happy during family gatherings and he enjoyed celebrating holidays and special occasions. He often used unique terms of endearment when addressing family, and would not let many days pass between his phone calls to check in on family members. Rick enjoyed boating and fishing at Port Deposit and the Chesapeake Bay. An avid sports fan, he routed for the Phillies, Eagles and Notre Dame. Rick enjoyed the annual quoit tournament with his friends in Millersville.

In addition to his wife Sharon, Rick is survived by his daughter Tracy, granddaughter Keyanna, and great-granddaughter Angelia; three siblings, Theodore Wingenroth, Jr., Holly Buffington and Wendy Wingenroth; mother-in-law Maria Ferguson and sister-in-law Maria Oblender.

A Memorial Service will be held 3:30 PM Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St. Lancaster, PA 17603 with Pastor David Kreider officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Church Social Hall following the Service. Rick’s family will greet friends from 2:30 to 3:30 PM at the church. Private interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

Sharon,
Kathy and I would like to extend our most sincere condolences on your loss. Rick has done numerous projects for us at our home, as well as performing as a sub-contractor for Surface Technology over the last 20 years. During that time, I considered him not only to be a valuable vendor, but a friend. He will be sorely missed.

Dear Sharon:
I am so sorry to hear about Rick.  I knew him many years ago, and used to hang out with him.  He was a very funny guy, and I know you will miss him.  The world is a little less bright without Rick in it.

Sharon, I am so sorry for your loss.  I was trying to remember when you were married – I remember being pregnant and dancing all night.  It was a wonderful day for you both.  Hearing about your loss has deeply saddened us, but we know that this is far from what you are going through right now. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family. Just know that we are here for you, and please do not hesitate to reach out, especially during this difficult time. Love Kelly Hawthorne and David Lynch
