Albert L. Sabatine, 84, of Lancaster, died at Lancaster General Hospital on Thursday, May 3, 2007 and went to be with the Lord and his wife, Esther. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Corso) Sabatine. In 1947 he married the late Esther M. DiLeo Sabatine, who died in 2005. Albert was a 1940 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and the New Jersey Locksmith Institute. He was an Army veteran of World War II, holding the rank of staff sergeant, serving in the South Pacific Campaign. He was a self-employed tile and marble contractor and retired from the profession after 55 years.

Lois Rae Neal Schaller, 92, passed away on January 7, 2011 at Willow Valley Retirement Community. She was born in St. Louis, MO just before the end of the Great War. When WWII began, Lois enlisted and became a Staff Sargeant in the Women's Air Force. She was with the first group of women sent overseas and was stationed at Elveden Hall in England at the Third Division 8th Air Force headquarters. While serving there, she met Donald Carl Schaller and they were married at St. Mary's Church in Thetford, England in October 1944. She was sent back to the United States with an honorable discharge while pregnant with their first son, Donald Jr.

Gary was a salesman for Coastline, selling industrial paints and coatings for boats. Gary lived in Texas since 1970, where he grew to love the Dallas Cowboys. He greatly enjoyed golfing and NASCAR. He always went out of his way to help others and was very giving of himself. He played in many golf tournaments that benefited and raised money for children organizations. Survivng besides his parents; a brother, Gregg Schierl, of Palmyra, a sister, Cindy Schierl, of Maytown, and a niece, Melissa Schierl. Schneider, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage this past June 17th. Born in Holland, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Ernest and Frances vandenBosch. Elaine was a graduate of the College of Wooster in Ohio, earning a BS in Geology in 1950. She was a homemaker and a very active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the women's group and an avid supporter of mission work. She was an avid reader, enjoying ancient history, archeology, and political topics. She had traveled the world with her husband, George on work assignments getting exposed to many cultures and visiting 50 countries. She had also taught religious classes in Indonesia while living there with her husband. This was the last overseas assignment before retiring in Lancaster. In addition to her husband, Elaine is survived by her children: Barbara Ann married to Timothy O'Connor of Lafayette, LA, Thomas J. married to Kim Schneider of Huntsville, AL and Jeannine Winsness married to Donald Quire of Exton, PA; her 6 grandchildren and her 3 great grandchildren. William J. "Bill" Schnelli, of Ormond-by-the-Sea, FL and formerly of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at the age of 90. Bill moved to New Smyrna in 1983 following his marriage to Phyllis. He retired from RCA as an administrator, having worked at both the RCA plant in Lancaster, PA and the David Sarnoff Research Lab in Princeton, NJ. Bill was born in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Jacob and Mabel Schnelli. He was a graduate of McCaskey HS, Lancaster, PA and Franklin and Marshall College, (1943) also in Lancaster. He served as Lt. (JG) in the US Navy. In 1944, he married Jeanne Biemesderfer with whom he shared 37 years of marriage until her death in 1981. An active participant in life, Bill enjoyed tennis, cycling, canoeing and camping with his family throughout the US. He also enjoyed seeing and recording life through the lens of a camera. Bill was an active member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Lancaster for many years. Bill is survived by his loving, supportive wife, Phyllis B. Schnelli. In addition, 5 children survive: Kathleen L. (Michael) Smith, of Ephrata, PA; David W. (Diane) Schnelli of Springfield, OR; William E. (Suzanne) Schnelli and Craig A. (Nancy) Schnelli, both of Lancaster, PA and Sabrina B. McDonnell, of Ormond Beach, FL. Bill enjoyed spending time with his 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his beloved sister, Nancy Schnelli (Bill) Hambleton of Lawrence, KS along with cousins, nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Albert enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking holiday treats for his friends and family. He and his wife enjoyed their yearly winter trips to Florida. In addition to his wife, Albert is survived by a son, Edward P. Sheetz, Esq. of Allentown and his three daughters: Susan E. married to David Stavish of Houston, TX, Kathy A. married to Tim Risser of Manheim, and Deborah J. married to John Shuler of Elizabethtown. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Eric P. Risser, Travis J. Risser, Dustin S. Risser, Michael J. Shuler, and Lindsey N. Shuler; his 4 great grandchildren, and his sister, Anna Varano. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Stephen A. Sheetz. Sandra enjoyed English gardening, was an avid reader, an animal lover, volunteer for the American Lung Association and loved spending time with her family. She was of the Christian faith. Kristina E. Skiadas, age 59, passed away on May 6, 2007 in Dover, New Jersey, of natural causes. Kristina Elizabeth Almqvist was born on March 1, 1948 in Karlskrona, Sweden, and spent her youth in the town of Lund. She went on to receive her B.A. and M.A. degrees in History from Lund University, after which she moved to Lancaster, PA. She raised her son Taki with her husband, George Skiadas, while managing various divisions of the family's restaurant and gift businesses. In her later years, she followed her passion for travel and new experiences by relocating to the shores of Belize, where she divided her time between a successful restaurant business venture and various community arts initiatives. She returned to the U.S. after being diagnosed with cancer, where she was able to spend her last weeks with her son and several close friends. She is survived by her son, Taki Skiadas, currently residing in New York, a brother, Bengt, and a sister Eva, both currently living in Lund, Sweden. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held on Sunday, June 24, at the Lancaster Unitarian Universalist Church at 3:00 pm. Charles F. Eleanor Churchill Stambaugh, 95, died peacefully on Monday afternoon at the Brethren Village. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Thomas and Nellie Churchill, she graduated cum laude from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Eleanor worked in the accounting department of R.H. Macy & Co in New York for 16 years. She later enjoyed traveling the world with her loving husband, David C. Stambaugh, who preceded her in death in 1976. She was a member of the Lancaster Church of the Brethren and enjoyed singing in the choir. Eleanor also was a volunteer with the Brethren Village Auxiliary, and she took great pleasure in playing golf with her family and with the Ladies 9 hole Group at the Lancaster Country Club. Survivors include her son, David, and her granddaughter, Allison, who reside in Los Angeles, California; her stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Miriam and Alton Kealey, and her stepgrandson Kenneth Kealey of Southern California. She will be greatly missed. The Funeral Service will be held at the Brethren Village Chapel, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster PA, on Saturday May 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM. LeRoy R."Stipie" Stipe, Sr. born June 9, 1927, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 12. He is survived by his wife Dolores M. Wolpert Stipe, formerly of Columbia. They were married in September 11, 1948 and five children, LeRoy R., Jr., married to Elizabeth Andes, Lancaster; Pamela M. Stipe Snavely, Lancaster, Craig A., married to Francine, Millersville; Patricia A, married to Jeffrey Nadu, Holtwood and Eric G., married to Jude Ann, Lampeter and ten grandchildren. He is survived by a brother John, Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Kolb, his mother Nellie F. Beach Stipe and his father Roy N. Stipe. He spent seventy-eight of his Eighty years on "Cabbage Hill." Sometimes referred to by his fellow Hillians as the "Mayor of Cabbage Hill." He graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Army in 1946, stationed at the Stone Henge in England He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was active with the Food Bank, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Legion of Mary and the Knights of Columbus as a 3rd degree knight, he also helped establish bingo at St. Joseph's and was a bingo caller for years. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Club where he and his sons received the Father and Son Award. He was an active member of the Men's bowling league and a manager of the six-man football program in the 1950's. He was an active member of Guys and Dolls and a former member of the Lancaster Officials Club, served as a committeeman for the Republican Party for many years and retired from Armstrong Cork Company after 43 years of service.

Hart, wife of Clarence, of Lititz; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007 from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, beginning at 11AM. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Stephan and Rose Sulik. He was the husband of Stella M. Sulik, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 2, 2007. Al retired from the Budd Company in Philadelphia as Die Tryout Machinist. Albert was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army he held the rank of corporal as an aerial gunner in the U.S. Army air corps. Al was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and a former member of St. Jerome Catholic Church located in North East Philadelphia. Al loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was avid Philadelphia sports fan. His interests include bowling and fishing and was a member of several different bowling leagues. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers of America. Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Carol A Kline, wife of Scott C., of Landisville; a daughter in law, Florence Sulik, of Bomoseen, Vt; 5 grandchildren: CHristine, Brad, Stephanie, Greg and Jenna; 4 great grandchildren: Ethan, Emily, Justin and Kaitlin. One sister, Leona Gabrielaitis, of Philadelphia. Albert was preceded in death by a son, Alan S. Sulik; two brothers, Frank and Fred Sulik; and a sister, Wanda Melnick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Rohrerstown on Wednesday November 7, 2007 at 10 AM. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, at 2 PM. There will be a public viewing Tuesday night, November 6 from 6-8 pm at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N. George St., Millersville. A Christian Prayer Service will be held Tuesday night at 8 PM. A second viewing will be held at St. Leo's Wednesday from 9:30 to 10 AM. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late James and Martha Loomis Sullivan. He was married for 63 years to Evelyn E. Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan worked in the field of construction and was a member of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers, local 23. Before starting his career, he served in the US Army in the 87th Division of the 345th Infantry where he fought in the European Theatre of Operation during World War II. Surviving in addition to his wife are his two sons, Raymond and Jere, his daughters, Evelyn, Cynthia, and Sharon, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Beverly and Geraldine.
