Condolences to the Family

Kim and Brooke, your mom was such a special lady. I remember when she and Jay came to visit my mother (Christine) in the Lehigh Valley Hospital all those years ago. She’d been in for over a month, and I was exhausted, wondering if we’d ever get her back home. I ran into them in the hallway and thanked them for coming. They told me they were praying for her and the family and I broke down and cried. We hugged each other. Very special people, very much loved, and will be very much missed.

Kim and Brooke, this is Sally, Mary Jane Mowrer’s daughter. What a great lady your mom was! I have so many memories of her. My mom loved her dearly and considered her one of her best friends and for HOW LONG? I can’t even imagine! The last time I saw her was October 2019 at my mom’s memorial service. She looked so adorable and I cried when I saw her, thinking of all of the wonderful times she and my mom had together, with family gatherings, vacations at Pine Grove, bridge or pinochle club (maybe both), hosting poker club (for the husbands), cookouts, life events, meeting for lunch in their later years! They had an inseparable bond, the likes of which most people will not have the pleasure of experiencing! Here’s to a life well spent!

You had a wonderful mother! I remember fond memories of ski trips with your parents! I am so sorry for your loss! The Lengachers had a close bond with the Smokers! Truly good and kind people! Kim and Brooke, my thoughts and prayers are with you! God bless you both! Love, Anne Lengacher

I am a fellow  resident at Brethren Village and have had the honor of knowing your mother since I moved here over 12 years ago.  We were in the same water exercise class and she walked past my cottage many times.  It was my good fortune to know her and share our love for the outdoors and good activity.  She was a very special lady.
