George M. Scott, 55

George M. Scott, 55, of McSherrystown, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of Myrtle (Champagne) Scott and the late Richard Scott. He was the husband of the late Laurie B. Scott who passed away January 4, 2019.
He was a 1981 graduate of Gettysburg High School where he was on the football team who went undefeated in his senior year.
George worked for Glatfelter Paper Mill for over 30 years.
He was very artistic and was a huge music enthusiast and played the bass in a church worship team and other various bands. George enjoyed reading, cooking, and going to the beach.
George is survived by his son, Alec Scott, husband of Abigail of Lancaster; grandson, Aslan; two sisters, Lucille Scott, of Frederick, MD, Sandra Scott of Cashtown, PA and nephew William Scott. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Falon Scott.
A Memorial Service Celebrating George’s & Laurie’s Life will be held at 6PM on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Interment will be private. Family and friends will be received from 5:30-6PM at the funeral home on Thursday evening. In lieu of flowers, contributions in George’s memory may be made to the Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, 1249 Cocoa Ave, Suite 115, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.

My heart goes out to Myrtle and Sandy and Lucille and especially to Alec.  I remember fun times with George when we were younger. He had such a great smile and was always a jokester. May all of your memories comfort you in this time sorrow. Godspeed George. Sherri Hansen
