Richard R. Singer, Sr., 93

Richard R. Singer “Pop-Pop”, Sr. 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lititz, PA to the late Alma (Reich) and John K. Singer.
Richard served as an Aviation Radioman Second Class and Aerial Gunman 2nd Class in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was a graduate from Lititz High School and Franklin and Marshall where he received his bachelors in Accounting. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. Richard was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Lititz, a member of the Finance committee and former church council. He was also a member of the Nation Association of Accountants and the Odd Fellows Club in Lititz. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his gentle teasing nature but mostly his loving and caring spirit.
Richard is survived by his 3 children: Richard R. Singer, Jr. of Sun City West, AZ, Patricia Schorn of Lancaster, and Kathy Wiest of Akron; his 3 grandchildren: William Michael Shue, Ryan Matthew Shue and Brittany Elisabeth Vaitl-Merklinger (Gregory); his 7 great-grandchildren: Hayden, Aliyah, Alexa, Alarick, Dylan, Mya, and Trey and 1 brother, Robert Singer, of Lititz. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Helen Lauderman, Ray Singer, Carl Singer and Anabel Herr.
He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 W Orange St, Lititz, PA 17543. Family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 9-10AM. A Memorial Service will be held at 10AM. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA
