Rose M. Sauer, 77
Rose Margaret Sauer, 77, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009, at her residence. Born on March 22, 1931, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Paul J. Sauer Sr. and Esther R. Nixdorf Sauer.
Miss Sauer, a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, was a faithful member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Miss Sauer is survived by her brother, Paul J., husband of Marie A. Sauer of Lancaster; one niece, and five nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009, at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 East Orange Street, Lancaster with Father Daniel Mitzel as celebrant. A viewing will be held from 10-11a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s New Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers. To Paul, Marie and family, My prayers and sympathy are with you all. Rose Margaret is in my memory as a devoted student at Sacred Heart Academy. She was always so nice to us "underclass students".

Dear Paul, Marie, and family,
My students and I are remembering Rose Margaret in our daily Rosary this week, I wish I would have learned of her illness sooner, to get in touch with her sooner, but I am remembering her now. I was able to see her not too long ago at Alice’s Restaurant and talk with her. It was a pleasure doing so after all the years that had slipped by. She brought me up to date on all of the Sauer family – it was a great visit.
