Carmen L. Santiago-Mangual, 61

November 02, 2019

Carmen L. Santiago – Mangual, 61, of Lancaster, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on November 2, 2019. Born in Salinas, PR, she was the daughter of the late Alejandro Mangual and Alejandrina Figueroa and the wife of Jose Santiago.

Carmen was devout servant of the Lord. She mirrored and shared God’s love to all she met. She attended Iglesia Evangelica El Buen Pastor and was heavily involved in church activities. She assisted in the nursery at the church, participated in planning committees, and was the head of the kitchen. Carmen was an incredible cook. Her food was her gift and her meals warmed your soul and filled your heart. She made food that even the pickiest eater would love.
A kind and compassionate person, Carmen was a great-listener and gave the best advice. She knew how to best care for you in your time of need. She was hospitable, generous, and had a God-given desire to serve and help others. Her humility was above all.

She will be dearly missed by her husband Jose, her children; Joselyn Santiago-Mangual, fiancé to Anthony Tyler, and Josue Santiago, her beloved companion; Simba, her siblings; Luis, Jose, Cecilio, Wigberto, Lucy, and Ada, and her many nieces, nephews, who were just like her own children, and the many close friends who were like her adopted children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings; Leida, Alejandro Jr., and Julio.

A viewing will be held Thursday November 7, 2019 from 7:00-9:00pm at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA. A Prayer Service will take place Thursday starting at 7:30pm. A Funeral Service will be Friday, November 8, 2019 at 11:00am at Iglesia Evangelica El Buen Pastor at 645 Harrison St. Lancaster, PA 17602. Guests will be received prior to the service starting at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.

My heart has been heavy since receiving the sad news of the best neighbor I could ever have, has left us. Always sending me a plate of her delicious food, smiling and waving at me as I sped out the driveway and giving me inspiration to have a better garden/lawn.  My deepest condolences to Jose and his family. Carmen will truly be missed…..
