I had a friend named eberhard Schroeder was I was in 6th grade. We were in the same class at vorhees grammar school in old bridge nj. He lived across the street from me and he moved after about only a year. He came back once to visit but we never heard from him again. I’ve thought of him so many times through the years . He had older sisters named erna and Thea they used to pull weeds on there front lawn in their bathing suits they were both so pretty. Is this the same eberhard? He was such a nice young Man I never forget him. Barbara bore kadas.

I was sorry to read about Bud’s passing.  I just happened to look him because I passed a candy store and remembered going with mom Ursula Eberhardt Maclearie and my grandmother Minnie Eberhardt who was a cousin of John and Wilma’s.  My clearest memory is attending his confirmation with my Eberhardt cousins.  May your hearts be comforted with memories of Bud.  It sounds like he was blessed. Heartbroken am I to learn that Brother Bud has entered ZBT Chapter Eternal. We had many great times together at Marshall University back in the day. He was always involved, whether it was intramurals, community service, or social events. Although never an officer, he was a highly respected chapter leader.

In our alumni life, Bud and I saw each other when we could. I recall breakfast in Chicago when he lived there and I was attending a conference, riding to Greenville-NC from Charlotte with Bud, Jack Kessick, and Bob Salsitz for Marshall Football vs East Carolina, meeting him and other chapter brothers for numerous Marshall M-Basketball games at UNC-Charlotte. We talked telephonically on a regular basis, much more so in the last few years. He was one of the first to call me last fall following my cardiac scare. I so regret having missed him when I called recently to wish him a Happy Birthday; hope he listened to my redention via vmx.

Bud Schroeder was a kind and considerate person, a loving husband and father, a very successful businessman, a great friend and Brother; he will be missed. May his memory be a blessing to everyone who knew and loved him.

Bud was a delight to be around.  We were lucky enough to have Linda and Bud with us on a European River Cruise.  We laughed our way down the rivers.  He was one of the founding group of the Manhattan Club in Sun City Carolina Lakes.  He will be forever toasted at our meetings.  Bud’s life should be celebrated for the person he was.  Prayers for Linda and family. I grew up with Bud in NJ. We were classmates in grammar and at Neptune High School, NJ. All I can say is what a great person Bud was. Over the past five years we re-connected, talked on the phone a few times, had fun recounting old times and exchanged many emails. We lost a fine person and my friend. Richard Hurley

Linda and the girls.
I never met and doubt that I will ever meet again, a man like your Husband and Father. We met at Papa John’s and when he walked into that first meeting I knew that I was going to meet a gentleman like no other. I was correct He absolutely was a father figure to me and he taught me more than any three people I knew. I was blessed to call him a friend.  His influence will live on and on. He touched so many. Peace to all of you
