Jane K. Santaniello, 98

Jane K. Santaniello, 98, of East Hempfield Township, passed away peacefully at Evergreen Estates Retirement Community on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 just three days shy of her 99th birthday. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late George S. and Grace (Skeen) Kurtz. Jane and her husband Armand Santaniello were married 62 years when he passed away in 2014.
Jane was a member of the first class to graduate from J.P. McCaskey in 1938. She worked at an internment camp in Florence, AZ during WWll that held Italian and German prisoners of war. She later worked in the admissions office at Millersville State Teachers College when she met Armand who was enrolled as a student
Jane was a wonderful homemaker for her family. She enjoyed cooking and shopping. She also enjoyed her volunteer work for the Red Cross at Lancaster General Hospital for 30 years.
Jane is survived by her two daughters, Carol Santaniello and Joyce, wife of Mark Macik, both of Lancaster and her son Gregory Santaniello of Conestoga; and her five grandchildren: Sherrie, Andrew, husband of Emily, Douglas, Eric and Jenna. In addition to husband Armand, Jane was preceded in death by her three brothers: Robert, Jack and Richard Kurtz.
A viewing will take place 10-11 AM, followed by the funeral at 11 AM, Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Private interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grane Hospice Care, 3501 Concord Road, Suite 100, York, PA 17402.
