Irene Maurer Sentz, 88

Irene Maurer Sentz, 88, originally of Brusen Drive, Lititz, PA, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015, with her family by her side at Pleasant View Retirement Community. She was the loving wife of the late Jacob W. Sentz. Irene was born on January 8, 1927 to the late Elwood and Ellen Maurer Bradley.
Born in Penryn, PA, she worked for the Schreiber Company in Lititz, Pleasant View Retirement Community, and Travis Mills. Irene was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Church in Lititz, PA.
She loved to cook, especially around the holidays, loved visiting and spending time with friends and family, and working in her many flower and vegetable gardens. She loved to sew. She adored and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her two children; Nancy Irene Rettew, wife of Carl H. Rettew and Jacob Owen Sentz, husband of Edwadeen S. Sentz; four grandchildren; Michael Rettew, husband of Dawn Rettew, Tammy Rettew Carles, wife of Jeremy Carles, Kaitlyn Sentz and Emily Sentz; and four great grandchildren; Madelyn and Roy Rettew and Liam and Owen Carles. She is also survived by a sister, Anna Mary Burkholder, Jonestown, PA. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mae Ruhl and one brother Elwood Bradley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Irene’s Memorial Service on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 6:30 PM at the Hoffer Auditorium of Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 Penryn Road, Manheim, PA with the Chaplain Ginny Hartman officiating. Private Graveside Services were held at Conestoga Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until time of service.
