Minda Morrison Sanders, 99

Minda Morrison Sanders passed away peacefully on January 19 in Lancaster. She was born on June 19, 1915 in Pueblo, CO.
She graduated from Millersville College in 1937 and earned graduate degrees in library science and children’s literature.
Minda was the high school librarian in Downingtown, and was an associate professor at Millersville University.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Audrey Sanders of Manheim; grandchildren Becky Sanders Coski of Denver, CO; grandson and wife Matt and Shannon Sanders of Atlanta, GA; and great grandchildren Willow and Everett Sanders of Atlanta.
Memorial services will be held on February 28, 2015 at Covenant UMC, 110 N. Mulberry St., Lancaster, PA at 10am, and at 2pm at Hopewell UMC, 852 Hopewell Rd, Downingtown, PA
Donations to children’s read-ing programs in lieu of flowers would please Minda.

It was my pleasure to be Minda’s last student teacher at Downington. It was an wonderful learning experiance and I have counted Minda as one of my friends from that time on.
