July 30, 2021
Sylvia M. (Galie) Sanders, 65, of Lancaster, passed away before her time on July 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Kathleen B. (Hohenwarter) Galie and the late Joseph D. Galie, Sr.

Galie, Jr. (Amanda Richards), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as Julia Stolte of Stuttgart, Germany, who was like a daughter to Sylvia and John.

Was shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. Her father, mother and brother have been three of my greatest friends thru the decades and I know she will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

I shall miss Sylvia immensely! We grew up together & maintained a very close cousin friendship. We were always able to confide in each other, make the other one laugh when needed & to remind each other that you don’t have to agree on everything but you can still be friends! I’ve lost a true friend & confidant. So glad to have been a part of Sylvia’s life!

Sylvia was a fierce advocate for those she loved and an inspiration to those of us who were on the journey of raising children with special needs. I will miss her laugh and wit. She fought the good fight to overcome so many physical challenges. She is finally at peace. Blessings and peace John and girls.
