Sandra Lea Schaefer, 65

Sandra Lea Schaefer, 65, of Mountville, passed away unexpectedly at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, April 28, 2019. Born in Lewistown, she was the daughter of Shirley J. Boop, of New Berlin, PA and the late Robert L. Wert.
Sandra was a graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School and had worked as a Liability Technician for 26 years for the Lancaster County Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
She enjoyed spending her evenings reading a good book, sewing, or watching movies. She looked forward to each spring as she loved spending time in her garden.
Sandra will be missed by her son, Nathan L. Schreffler, husband of Crystal, of Lancaster; her granddaughter, Myla Cate; four siblings: Robert K. Wert, husband of Arlene, of Mifflinburg, Beverly Eppley, wife of Robert, of Middleburg, William E. Wert, husband of Yijin, of Harrisburg, and Tammy E. Morgan, wife of Perce, of Harrisburg; and her brother-in-law, Jay Walter, of New Berlin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia A. Walter.
Services for Sandra will be private and at the convenience of the family. She will be interred with her family in New Berlin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Sandra’s memory be made for Crisis Management at Lancaster County Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, 1120 Frances Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601 or Mental Health America, 630 Janet Avenue, Suite B-110, Lancaster, PA 17601.

My utmost and deepest sympathies go to nathan and family and to Sandy’s mother and brothers and sisters,she will be greatly missed. Growing up she was like a 2nd mother to me,and even though you get older and lose track you still never forget about them. Jason brosius

I am so, so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. I had just seen her about a year go and she looked great. I have great memories from when you lived with me and cut my grass. Take care of you, your wife and your little girl. I hope to you see soon. Love and best wishes! Come see me sometime.

I knew Sandy as a Liability Technician at MH/MR.  She was a lovely person and so helpful and efficient.  I am saddened by her sudden death and will miss my yearly visits with her. My sympathies go out to her family and to the people she worked with.
