James “Jim” Smith, 71

James “Jim” Smith, 71, of Lancaster entered into eternal care on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care. He was the loving husband to Rosemary (Fiester) Smith to whom he was married to for 48 years.
Jim was the son of the late Charles Smith, Sr. and Mae (Frey) smith.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He retired from Kunzler Inc. where he worked as a supervisor for many years. Jim was a lifetime member of the AMVETS as well as the VFW. He was also a member of the American Legion as well as the 8th Ward Beneficial Club. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan as well as NASCAR. Jim enjoyed fishing and spending his spare time in Ocean City, MD. with his loving family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, Rosemary, Jim is survived by his two loving daughters, Krissy Corbett wife of Vince of Chalfont, PA and Terry Wilson of Lancaster, PA. He was the Boppy of Ryan James Corbett, Colin Corbett, Erika Groff wife of Kyle, and Samantha Wilson, one great granddaughter, Olivia Groff and one on the way, three siblings, John “Bo” Smith, Charles Smith, Jr., and Ella Mae Kilheffer and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Gener Frey, Betty Manos, Anna Mary Kline, Helen Lenhardt, and Barry Smith.
Jim will be reunited with his loving dog, Sage.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Jim will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 1PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602 with Father Jeffrey Rott officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 11-1PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jim may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
