Thomas P. Jackson, 59, of Ronkonkoma, NY, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson, NY. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of Charles S. and Therese M. O’Rourke Jackson of Lancaster.
Tommy graduated from Massapequa High School, Massapequa, NY, and then served in the US Navy. He worked as a chef for the de Seversky Conference Center in Old Westbury, NY. He was of the Catholic Faith. Tommy’s many interests included being a paint artist, woodworking, the outdoors, fishing, watching animals in the fields of Pennsylvania, dogs and cats and drinking coffee. He had a loving warm heart, a childlike spirit and a great sense of humor. Tommy was always concerned for the wellbeing of his parents.
Surviving in addition to his parents are four siblings: Charles J. Jackson of Copiague, NY, Philip Jackson of Claverack, NY, Gerard Jackson, husband of Loree of Hollywood, FL and Marie, wife of Richard Belgrod of New Holland; and his nieces and nephews: Daniel and James Jackson, Petty Officer Joseph Belgrod, husband of Michele, Jason and Mariah Belgrod and Carmine Rublowsky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 AM, Saturday, June 29, 2013, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Hwy., Quarryville, PA, with Rev. Robert A. Yohe as Celebrant. Viewings will be held 7-9 PM Friday, June 28, 2013 (Tonight), at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA and 10-11 AM on Saturday at the church. Interment with Military Honors in St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Hwy.
