Agnes J. Luta, 85

On June 27, 2012 following a brief illness, Agnes J. Luta, 85, left the bounds of this earth and waltzed into the loving arms of Vince, her lifetime dance partner. She was surrounded by the love of her caring family and the staff of the Hospice of Lancaster County in Mt. Joy. Agnes was preceded in death in by her adoring husband Vincent J. Luta, who died in 2009. Agnes was born in Mt. Carmel, PA, and was the daughter of the late Francis and Alexandra (Muleski) Rovinski.

She leaves a legacy of four children, Vincent, married to Lynn, Hopeland, Pa., Francis, married to Diane, Brownstown, Pa, Diana, married to James Koller, Seattle, WA and Christine, married to Chance Miller, Lancaster.

Mom shared her endless love with the generations of children in her life including ten grandchildren, Nathan, Ian, Kendra, Izaak, Jonathon, Caitlyn, Luke, Caitlin, Madison, and Sidney and three special great-grandchildren, Raya Jane, Lennox, and Ellis. She leaves behind sisters Elizabeth and Rose.

Agnes had a passion for music and dance. She and Vince were charter members of the Dutchland Polkateers dance club and the Lebanon Polka Pals. There was hardly a Saturday night they didn’t glide across the dance floor. She and her husband traveled extensively, twice fulfilling a lifelong goal of visiting Poland, the homeland of her parents.

Mom loved family meals with lots of food, stories and laughter. No one will ever make pierogies as good as she did. Sunday night dinners at Christine’s were special for all.

Agnes’s spirit will be missed greatly not only by family and friends, but also by the birds and creatures she tended to daily. She loved to gaze for hours from her kitchen window at the antics of God’s creatures.

Agnes was a wonderful seamstress, retiring from the Valley Frocks garment factory in 1985. She was a devout Catholic, faithfully attending St. Anthony of Padua Catholic church.

Friends will be received on Sunday, July 1st, from 7-9 PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, with a Christian Prayer Service at 8:30 PM. On Monday, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 with the Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.

My deepest sympathy to my cousins and their families. Aunt Agnes will be missed. I have many fond memories of staying at Uncle Vince and Aunt Agnes’ house as a child. We had a lot of fun. She is now with Uncle Vince and I’m sure that they will dance together forever.

My love to all,
Kathleen Luta

We were so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. We have so many fond memories of our next door neighbors. Mrs. Luta, thanks for putting up with the Kahler kids in your yard and house! We’ll never forget how your mom fed the birds so lovingly. And we were so touched that both your mom and dad came to our mom’s service, staying for the whole thing. You guys were great neighbors. The 900 block of E. Orange St. will never be the same.

Fondly,
the Kahlers and the Pedersons

Dear Christine: Thank you so much for calling this evening. I’m so very sorry to hear about your beloved Mother passing away. I loved her and Uncle Vince so much and will miss receiving her letters filled with stories about you kids and your children and grandchildren. I will treasure each of her letters and pictures she has sent me over the years. I’m so glad I was able to be with her and your Dad three years ago. She gave the best hugs with the brightest smile. I will treasure my memories of summers spent with her and your Dad and eating her amazing pierogies! You will all be in my prayers. May Our Lord continue to comfort each and every one of you.
Love,
Cousin Valerie

To the Luta family and friends…especially my dear friend Christine. I was so sorry to have heard the news of (what we called her) "Mrs. Luta". She and Mr. Luta put up with me many weekends…lol They were always there for the girls St.Anthony’s basketball team. I still have the pictures he gave me. I’ll especially remember the dinners…Mmmmmm her pierogies were the best.

Both parents will forever be in my heart and thoughts. I am blessed to have known them.
