Bill Smith was a true friend. We talked on many Sunday mornings since he left Erwin. We had our longest conversation the Sunday before his passing. He was a very loyal Democrat and we met through the Unicoi County Democratic Party many years ago. Bill loved Unicoi County the his many friends in the Democratic Party throughout upper East Tennessee. His passing will be felt by many. I will miss talking to Bill on Sunday mornings. RIP Bill – Mike K. Hampton, Chair Unicoi County Democratic Party
