Virginia L. Swartz, 65

Virginia L. Swartz, 65, of Lancaster, passed away at the Essa Flory Hospice Center with her husband and daughters at her side on Monday, July 10, 2006.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Peter M. and Anna M. Labeck Rudes. She was the wife of Roy D. Swartz III. They would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in October.

A hairstylist, she owned Gini’s Hair Studio. A 1958 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was an accomplished seamstress.

Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Penni A. wife of J. Lynford Longenecker; Christine S. wife of James S. Speros; Beth Ann wife of Anthony Vulopas Jr. all of Lancaster; five grandchildren, James F. Aten III, Liliana K. and Theodore J. Speros, Milena A. and Isabella M. Vulopas; sisters, Elizabeth Cramer of Lancaster; Mary Dorthea wife of Carl Wasserlein of East Earl; Anne Wright of FL; Norma wife of Gervase Zeigler of Lancaster; and Victoria Rudes of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by brothers, John, Joseph, and George Rudes; and a sister Catherine Connor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, PA on Friday at 11AM. Interment in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA on Thursday from 6-8PM. Please omit flowers.
