January 10, 2015

Virginia B. Stouffer, 88, of Lancaster, Pa., passed away peacefully Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford, Pa. Virginia was born in Lancaster on June 19, 1926, daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Homsher) Brenner.

Virginia is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Dr. Henry C. Stouffer. Also surviving are her loving son, David D. Stouffer (Jan), and loving daughter, Lynne S. Ehrman (Skip). Virginia was Nana to her 3 grandsons, Geoffrey B. Ehrman, Matthew C. Ehrman (Jenny), and Andrew D. Ehrman, and Ginny to her many friends.

She was a 1944 graduate of McCaskey High School, and then attended Temple University. It was during a Christmas break when Virginia worked at Watt & Shand, that she met Henry. They were married February 1, 1947, in Lancaster. Virginia loved travel and enjoyed many international adventures, in addition to annual fall visits to Vermont. Her family meant everything to her, and she always had a way to make everyone feel loved. She enjoyed cooking, collecting roosters, bridge club with dear friends, and reading.

Virginia worked as a tour director at the Amish Farm and House for 34 years. Virginia was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster nearly 70 years. She was very proud of this and eager to tell people.

Henry and family,
We will remember Ginny as a good friend and a great lady– she will most certainly be missed. I think all of her close friends at work  (The Amish Farm and House) feel as if they know the whole family– she always spoke so proudly of you all.  Enjoy all the memories. Nancy and Harold Rosier

We will always remember your mom as a sweet and gentle lady with a sharp wit.  Ginny was so fun to be with, and we feel blessed to have had the opportunity to spend some time with her over the years.  She will live on in our memories, and will not be forgotten.
