“If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain.”

She leaves to cherish her memory a nephew, who was like a son, Stanley Calloway (Mary Calloway); along with best friends who were like sisters, Shirley Gillis and Linda Christian, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins especially Lisa Rodriguez, and other loving relatives and friends. She also leaves her entire Golden Memorial family whom she loved dearly.

Condolences to the Family

September 17, 2014

To Stanley & Mary, Lisa, Shirley, Linda and all the rest of Bertie’s family and friends, my sincere condolences to you in the passing of “Bertie”.
May God comfort and keep you during your time of grieving.
Bertie was my friend, McCaskey 1962 classmate and sister in Christ.  I admired her for her dedication to ministry and outreach.  I also admired her for her friendliness, fashion style and zest for life.  I’m glad she got to Georgia and checked that off her “bucket list”.
Rest in Peace, my friend.   Love, Shirley Jones

This makes me so sad. I met Bertie at RR Donnnelley. She was just a wonderful beautiful woman. There is singing and dancing in Heaven and I know she was greetedd with “Well done good and faithful servant”. My deepest sympathies to her family and loved ones. Carrie Young

I hope I will never forget the last song that Bertie sang with BBCC, “The Blood Still Works.”  That was a special song to her, and she really did it justice by singing it from her heart!  My sympathy to her family and loved ones.  I sincerely pray that the Lord, who is our Comfort, will comfort you.  In Christ, Linta C. Baldwin
