Condolences to the Family

My name is Joe Shelby.  I have been recently trying to connect with old friends and I thought of George.  It is with sorrow and regret that I discovered that George has passed on.  George, myself, John Barger, and Dave Barnes all hunted together near West Hazleton (where we all went to high school.)  I have fond memories of “hanging out” at George’s folks house on Putnam Street.  We would play Beach Boys records, play games or use the wood working shop in the lower level of the house.  We would also hang out at Ike’s service station nearby.  I had a great time growing up in that era and George was part of my life back then.  I remember him liking Hire’s root beer and anything to do with the Navy.  Take care.

We have not seen each other for years but had great memories of working together. George was always ready to help Earl when he needed him. We will be praying for your family in this difficult time. May GOD bless you and keep his loveing arms around you.

I am truly sorry for the loss of this gentleman. I knew George way back in the 70’s when we worked together at Shasta Ind. He actually was my supervisor. He was a very hard worker and tough boss but we got along very well and i considered him a friend. I had not seen him for  a number of years and was taking a walk one day by his home and i recognized him. I approached him with a hello and was happy thathe recognized me also. I did not know he had passed till this morning when reading the obits. I feel saddened by his loss and want to let you know Heaven has welcomed a very kind angel thru their gates. May you all find peace and comfort thru his many memories you shared. God bless.

I could ask for no better father-in-law. George was one of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever met. A true example to his sons and gandchildren of family loyalty, generosity, and humility. He got it right!
You will be missed George. Our family is not complete without you.
