Dennis B. “Denny” Rineer, 56

Dennis “Denny” B. Rineer, 56, of Lititz, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Lancaster Regional Medical Center.  Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late A. Cleon Rineer and Shirley (Sweigart) Rineer.  Denny was the loving husband of 27 years to Kathy (Wissing) Rineer with whom he loved tea and conversation on the porch after every supper.

Denny graduated from Lampeter Strasburg High School.  He was a loyal, well-liked machine operator for 30 years at RR Donnelley.  An avid outdoorsman and hunter, Denny will forever be remembered for his larger than life laughter, his love of a good joke or story, his unwavering support of his beloved Philadelphia Eagles and his never-ending patience.  He dearly loved and cherished his family, including the extended family created by  Denny and his wife, Kathy, as they lovingly opened both heart and home to many children too numerous to count.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five siblings: Steven Rineer husband of Patricia, Lucinda Bernhardt wife of Timothy, Scott Rineer husband of Patricia Spath, Christopher Rineer companion of Cynthia Blymier and Eric Rineer husband of Sonya, all of Lancaster, PA; and ten nieces and nephews.

Come as you are, casual or formal, to a Memorial Service at 2 PM on Monday, August 13, 2012 at Hempfield Brethren in Christ Church, 2600 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601.  Family and friends will be received from 1-2 PM at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Denny’s memory to the Hempfield Brethren in Christ Sports Ministry.  To send the family online condolences, please visit SnyderFuneralHome.com. I feel lucky having known and worked with Denny for many years. I recently saw him at Weis Markets and we talked about being able to retire soon. He will be missed by many people. I wish all the best for his family.

To the family of Denny Rineer. We are so sorry for your loss. Denny was a great man, who always had a smile on his face and always had jokes to tell. He brought laughter into Donnelley and he will be truly missed. Denny has found peace with the Lord now, and he will always be in our hearts. Praying for you that you may find comfort during this difficult time. Denny is only gone physically, but may you still feel his presence spiritually. Being away from Lancaster, PA for 12 years, I lost touch with a lot of childhood friends. I was saddened to hear the news about Denny. We had such fun growing up in our neighborhood. Too many fond memories to mention – Denny and the gang know what I mean. One of my best was our baseball games at the church. I would like to send out my sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Kathy and all the family. I will certainly keep Denny and his family in my prayers.

I knew Denny when I lived on Plymouth Avenue back in early Seventies,I couldn’t have had a better friend in the world. We hung out together in the late seventies and when I got married in 1979 he was best man at my wedding. We grew apart in later years but Denny’s heart and personality was always with me. We ran into each other one snowy night in Lititz and we sat and talked for a couple of hours reminiscing about when we were young and what was going on in our lives.Somehow Denny had the ability to be anyone’s friend..it was his gift and in my heart Denny will was always be the best man.

God Bless you Denny

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Denny was such a very dear kind man to work with. He was always so nice to talk to at RRDonnelley. Sometimes he would sit down at break & kid and joke around & make you laugh. He always treated everyone with kindness & respect. My thoughts and prayer to you and your family.

Kathy~ I wanted to extend my condolences to you and your family.  I was sorry to hear about Denny.  While I didn’t know him personally, I certainly equate him with you, and with how your home was open to Abbey.  Years pass, but we don’t forget those who left footprints along the way.

Abby and I were shocked and saddened to hear the news about Denny.  Although we didn’t see him regularly in recent years, whenever we did cross his path, it was like we just saw him not long before – like "old times" when we were young adults, carefree, having fun, and full of hope for our future.  We will certainly miss him!!!  We send our sincere condolences to Kathy and all the family.  We will see you at the memorial service.  Take care.
