Catherine Rupp

Catherine (Brasch) Rupp, 102, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday at Manor Care Nursing Home in Lancaster. Born in York, she was the daughter of  the late William M. and Catherine M. (Brickner) Brasch. She was the wife of the late Joseph Edward Rupp who passed away July 12, 1962.

Mrs. Rupp was employed as a telephone operator and bookkeeper at Fulton bank for 17 years. She also worked for the First Federal Savings as a bookkeeper, before retiring at the age of 65. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in York, where she graduated from grade school,  then was married in the church in 1929 and then moved to Lancaster. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and over 50 group senior citizens.

Survivors are her sister, Naomi B. Schiding of York and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Caroline V. Althoff, Mary Olga Brasch, Grace Brasch Gabriel, Germaine Brasch Smith and two brothers, William J. and John G. Brasch.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Sacred  Heart Catholic Church 558 Walnut St. Lancaster, at 11AM friends may be received from 10AM until the time of the service. Interment in St. Joseph’s New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to  Manor Care Health Services, 100 Abbeyville Rd. Lancaster or Heartland Hospice, 217 Granite Run Drive, Lancaster, Pa 17601. The Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc. 414 East King St. Lancaster, 393-9661 is in charge of the arrangements.
