I just saw in the Millersville Review that Dr. Kirchner had passed away.  I was so sorry to hear this.  She was one of my favorite professors at Millersville.  She will be missed by those of us were lucky enough to have her as a professor.

Miss Burie as she was known to me was my first grade teacher at James Buchanan E.S. I couldn’t tell you my second grade teacher’s name but Miss Burie was a teacher I will always remember. She is an enduring memory for me for her kindness and goodness as a teacher. I truly can picture myself at a desk in her class as well as her before the front of the class. i have the paper to this day asking us what we wanted to be someday. my paper says policewoman. She lives on in my heart of memories. Joan Sill Boothwyn, Pa

Dr Kirchner was one of the finest teachers I was fortunate to be taught by at Millersville University.  Her smiles, her love for children and enthusism for teaching was an inspiration to me. She made an huge impact on everyone’s lives. She will be greatly missed.

audrey absolutely LOVED teaching and kids.  she modeled great teaching for all her millersville university students during her long and illustrious career.  she made a positive contribution to hundreds of young children in her elementary classrooms and to thousands of undergraduate and graduate students at m u.  i remember most the parties her little kids had as part of their learning at the m u stayer lab school.  each time they studied a particular country, there was a party so the kids could taste the food and sample the culture of that country.  audrey always had a smile on her face; so sorry she could not live a longer life.   anita pflum kovach

I am one of the fortunate former students at the Millersville lab school, to have had “Miss Burie” as my teacher for four wonderful years.  To my classmates and me, she was so much more than a teacher.  She touched each and every one of us in ways that I’m sure none of us could fully comprehend or appreciate until many years later.  Time to look through my elementary school yearbooks which she so lovingly prepared for us; they always bring a smile.  Thanks, Miss Burie, for everything.- Cathy (Pretzman) Kauffman

My sincere condolences on the passing of Audrey (Miss Burie). She was my first grade teacher and first class she taught. By far she was the best teacher I ever had. Very caring and became good friends with our family years later. She will be missed dearly.
