Yvonne L. Boots, 89, of Lancaster, PA, passed away at home on December 8, 2025, of natural causes. She was born on November 14, 1936, in Lancaster, PA, to Clarence E. and Harriet E. Boots.

Yvonne, affectionately called Vonnie, lived and worked in Lancaster for most of her life. She worked as a housekeeper and provided care for many of her grandchildren. Although she withdrew from J P McCaskey High School, Vonnie later earned her GED and proudly boasted of her grandchildren’s accomplishments.

In her early adult years, Vonnie spent most days with her siblings and her children. She loved word search puzzles, playing Solitaire, watching TV, and listening to good music. She enjoyed having nice things and worked hard to have them, and she usually kept a few dollars stashed in her wallet or in one of her pocketbooks. She was a great source for obtaining historical information about the community and had a giving spirit.

As she seasoned, she spent time with her great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Most days she enjoyed her independence, living on her own despite physical limitations. She loved the Lord, read her Bible daily, and was baptized again in 2020 at First Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Philadelphia.

Yvonne is survived by daughters, Neia (Charles) Fry-Wilson of Elizabethtown, Cecilia L. Fry of Lancaster, and Myra Fry of Lancaster; grandchildren Angela, Kendra, Ericca, Andre, Brian, Cecilia Y, and Sonya M; and sister Lorraine Adams of Fort Mill, SC, as well as great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Harriet; siblings Clarence B. Boots, Beatrice J. Cooper, Earl F. Boots, Sr., Elwin W. Boots, Theresa M. Mobley, Raymond A. Boots, Sr., and Janet M. Christian; daughters Sonya L. Fry and Robyn Harrison; and grandchildren LaTeisha, Tyler, and Eric.

Homegoing Service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, with public viewing at 11:00 AM and service at 12 PM. Interment will follow directly afterward at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, Lincoln Highway.
