Willis C. “Bill” Lefever, Jr., 81

Willis C. “Bill” Lefever, Jr., 81, of Strasburg, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Conestoga View, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Willis C., Sr. and Mildred (Harple) Lefever. He was married to Margaret L. (Probst) Lefever for over 57 years.

Bill retired from G. R. Mitchell, Inc. after many years as a building materials salesman. He was a life member of the Lancaster Co. Fireman’s Association and the Strasburg Fire Company. He was the past treasurer and captain of the Fire Police. He was a 32nd degree mason and was member of the Christiana Masonic Lodge #417 F&A.M. and the Harrisburg Consistory A.A.S.R. Bill was also a member of the Zembo Shrine A.A.O.N.M.S. He was an active member of the Strasburg Lions Club and was the past president and treasurer. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Paradise and was also the Strasburg Township Tax collector for many years. Bill enjoyed memberships in the Red Rose Horse and Pony Club and The Cross Trailers Square Dance Club. He also enjoyed Bluegrass music.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Mark S. Lefever, husband of Tracey L., of Strasburg, Treva Kilby, wife of Tim Kilby, of Quarryville. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Andrew Kilby, husband of Angie, Emily Futcher, wife of Jason, Amy Simon, wife of Jeff, Ashley Farag, wife of Farag and Amber Lefever; 3 great-grandchildren, Ava Kilby, Melody Futcher, Landon Simon, and 3 siblings, Park, husband of Sara Lefever of Lancaster, Charles, husband of Nancy Lefever, Florence, wife of Clayton Metzler, both of Willow Street, PA. He was preceded in death by a son, David Lefever.

A Memorial Service will be at 7PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 3001 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, PA 17562 with Rev. Gene Errickson officiating. The family will greet family and friends following the service at church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill’s memory can be made to the Strasburg Fire Co., 203 Franklin St, Strasburg, PA 17579.
