William V. Mohan, 83

William V. Mohan, 83, a lifelong Staten Islander, passed away on October 29, 2024, after a courageous battle with illness. A dedicated NYPD officer, he began his career at the 9th precinct and retired from the 122 precinct. Bill proudly served in the Navy and the Army Reserves, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to service.
After retiring from the NYPD, he became a school bus driver with Pioneer. Bill and his beloved wife, Peggy, later moved to Lancaster, PA, where they enjoyed their retirement together.
He is survived by his steadfast partner, Peggy, and their children: Donna, Andrea, Patrick (Joan), and Matthew. Bill was also a cherished grandfather to four grandchildren: Allie (Nate), Mitch, Liam, and Sully.
Remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, service to the community, sense of humor, and warm-hearted spirit, Bill’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. A small memorial service was held on October 30, 2024, to honor his life and contributions.

Bill was a friend of my father, and became a friend to me. Bill was a guest at my wedding and we belonged to the same Moose lodge.
