Condolences to the Family

March 21, 2019

Dear Linda,
It is with deepest regret that my sisters Patty, Donna and I learned of Bill’s passing only today. We are so very sorry for the deep loss for you and your family.
I’m also sorry we weren’t able to attend the service for Bill. We would’ve been there had we known, because of what your brother meant to our father Wilbur B. Charles.
Dad and Bill had the best time taking those voting machines around the county and stopping at local eateries along the way. Bill always marveled at the shortcuts my Dad knew around the county and Daddy thought the world of Bill. Bill was the one who made our Dad’s retired life so much fuller because he introduced him to the Masons, gave him a part time job and was a good friend to Dad. Oh and the fun they had! We too always enjoyed meeting up with Bill. He would always take the time to talk and make us laugh.
The world has lost a wonderful man in Bill.
Our sympathies to all of you!
Cynthia Charles-Eder, John Eder, Maggie & Lily, Donna & John Herr and Patty Bradley

Our deepest sympathy to Linda and to Bill’s extended family.  Bill was a very good friend to both my Husband and I.  I worked with Bill for 35 years at the County.  He was always such a joy to be around.  The citizens of Lancaster County were extremely lucky to have Bill maintain all the voting machines used for the entire County.  He made sure that each voting machine was well maintained to insure that each and every citizen had his/her vote count.  Bill sure was one special guy.  We are so thankful that Bill was part of our lives.  RIP, Bill.
