William D. Young, 88
William D. Young, 88, a resident at Lancashire Hall, died Saturday evening at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Jacob S. and Rose Marie Paulsen Young. He had formerly resided in Peach Bottom for many years.
He was a roofer for many years, working for Philip Fellman, John Dyer and the Goodhart Bros. roofing businesses.
He was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church and formerly a member of the Millersville VFW Post 7294.
A World War II veteran of the US Army, he served as a private in a field artillery unit, fighting in the campaigns of Algeria, Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, the Rhineland and the Ardennes.
The last of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Laura Gertler, Marie Wimer, Annamary Bleacher, and by a brother, Jacob Young Jr.
Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Services for William on Friday at 10AM at the Charles Snyder Jr Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
