William C. Paulsen, III, 96, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William C. Paulsen, Jr. and Mabel (Kauffman) Paulsen. He was the loving husband of the late Dolores (Demmy) Paulsen, to whom he was married for 73 cherished years.
Bill was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and went on to serve proudly in the United States Air Force. Following his service, he worked as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement.
A man of many interests, Bill enjoyed bowling, tending to his vegetable garden, and playing shuffleboard. He was a longtime member of the Lancaster VFW and was known for his outgoing nature and the deep love he held for his family. Throughout his life, he also shared a special bond with his dogs—Jacque, Abby, Saber, Annie, Candy, and Shanna—who brought him much joy and companionship.
Bill is survived by his daughters: Carol Zimmerman, wife of Robert, of Lititz; Diane Paulsen of Lititz; and Dolores Paulsen of Lititz. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Robert Zimmerman, II, Adam Zimmerman, and Daniel Zimmerman, husband of Stephanie; his four great-grandchildren; and his cousin, Stanley Sanders, Jr.
Interment will be private at Riverview Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601.
