Virginia L. “Ginny” Joline, 87
November 24, 2024
Virginia L. Joline (Ginny) of Lancaster passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024, with her daughters Denise and Julie by her side. Born and raised in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Edward and Marie Virginia (Gin) Geubtner. She was married to Robert F. Joline, Sr. for over 63 years before his death in 2022.
Ginny graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School. After her children were grown, she decided to pursue her passion for nursing and graduated from Lancaster County Vo-Tech’s Licensed Practical Nursing program. She went to work for Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital, Community Hospital of Lancaster, and ended her nursing career at UPMC, Lititz. Ginny truly found her calling in nursing. Her patient and their families loved her excellent care and compassion. Her co-workers became her life long friends.
Ginny lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many interests. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, counted cross stitch, and was an avid reader. Ginny and her husband Bob enjoyed their morning coffee on their back porch watching the birds at their feeders. She learned to play the piano as an adult and continued lessons until her passing. She was a great cook. Everyone always raved about her potato salad, stuffed peppers, and orange coconut cake. Ginny and her husband, Bob, saw much of the country traveling in their camper. They met many people who became friends.
She had wonderful neighbors who looked out for her and took care of anything she needed, especially after her husband died. This gave her daughters peace of mind. She is survived by two daughters, Denise Joline and Julie Joline (John Curtin), a daughter-in-law, Debra Joline, grandchildren Amy Kline (Shawn), Michele Transue, and Matthew Joline (Amanda), great-grandchildren Austin Gillenwater, Ethan Transue, Hailey Transue, Aiden Joline, Zoey Kline, Alexa Joline, and Carter Kline. She is also survived by a brother, Edward A. Geubtner (Loretta), and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her only son, Robert F. Joline, Jr.
The family invites guests to a viewing on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
