Virginia D. Uhron, 83

January 25, 2017

Virginia D. Uhron, 83, passed away after a brief illness on January 25, 2017. She was born in Chambersville, PA, to the late Paolo Dominico and Antoinette (DIPadova) DiTullio. Virginia had been married for 60 years to her loving husband Robert who predeceased her in December 2016.

She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in education and received a Master’s degree in Humanistic Education from Marywood College. Virginia taught elementary physical education both in New Jersey and in Manheim Township at Brecht, Schaeffer and Nitrauer elementary schools. After retiring from teaching she enjoyed working at the Lenox Outlet in Lancaster.

Virginia was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was active in various ministries. Virginia loved spending time with her family and good friends. She had a generous heart and was happiest when her home was crowded and her table was full.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Cynthia C. Uhron of Jenkintown, PA, Carole, wife of Gregg Ogden of Newburyport, MA, and Judy, wife of Len Cusato of Corolla, NC; grandchildren, Christopher Robert and Jessica Blake Ogden, Len’s daughters, Kylie and Kennedy Cusato and nine brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by three siblings.

Visitation will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, followed by Mass at 11:30 AM with Rev. Daniel F.X. Powell as Celebrant, on Saturday, February 18, 2016 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Interment will be in Saint Bernard of Clairvoux Catholic Cemetery, Indiana, PA, following a memorial mass for both Robert and Virginia on Saturday, April 22, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, 105 Westwood Place, Suite 125, Brentwood, TN 37027.

Condolences to the Family

February 21, 2017

I just was told today of the passing of both Bob in December and Ginny in January. They were so full of life and love; just a wonderful couple. I was so fortunate to have known them. We shared our faith together in PCGG prison ministry. I know they have to be in heaven, such a loving, caring, and religious couple. I am glad they have reached their final reward but will miss seeing them. Rest In Peace dear Ginny and Bob.

We are so sorry to lose Ginny at St. John Neumann.  She was always so friendly and cheerful, interested and welcoming.  We will miss her.   Peggy and Gere Frailey

So sorry for your loss. I still remembering mrs uhron teaching CCD class and giving us a quarter when we answered a question correctly!

To the family of Mrs. Uhron,
I am so sorry for your loss.  Mrs. Uhron was my elementary gym teacher at Schaeffer.  I didn’t like gym class because I wasn’t that atheletic.  She didn’t give up on me.  I even attempted to tryout for cheerleading when I was in the middle school.  She really encouraged me and was so helpful.  She was a wonderful person.  May her memory be eternal.
With my deepest sympathies,
Angela Moshos
