Violet F. Hostetter, 19
Violet F. Hostetter of Lancaster, passed away, at the age of 92 on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Willow Valley Nursing Home. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Forster and Sabina Chihasz Forster . In March she celebrated 69 years of marriage with her husband W. Merle Hostetter.
She was a charter member of Community United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.
Violet loved gardening, sewing, cooking, artwork, and being with her family. She was in partnership with her husband at Lancaster Home Sales.
In addition to her husband, Violet is survived by a daughter, Judith Rogers wife of Peter Rogers, and two sons, David Hostetter husband of Faith Hostetter, and Bruce Hostetter husband of Pat Hostetter , all of Lancaster, Pa. and a sister Pat Valudes wife of Spiros Valudes.
She had eleven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Doris Rupp and Elaine DeMarra.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 414 E. King St. Lancaster 17602 at 10 a.m. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home before the service from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Interment will follow at Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery.

I was very sorry to hear the news of Vi passing. I remember with fondness working for them at the home sales. I hope Merle is well.

Please accept mine,my wifes, and Lloyola’s most sincere condolences..our prayers are with her. She was a wonderful person…When ever I passed through,or even stayed awhile with you folks, she always made us feel right at home. She will be greatly missed by many.

Sorry to hear the passing of Violet. I have not seen you all since Lewisburg, probably at Sherry’s home. Hope you all are healthy up there in PA. Scott & I moved to TN & are expecting our 10th, to be born, baby. I tried to look your family up on facebook, & it popped up with Violet’s information. Again, so sorry for your families loss. Hope you all take care!
