Timothy (Tim) J. Lease, 66
November 26, 2024
Dr. Timothy (Tim) J. Lease, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord he loved on November 26, 2024 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 8, 1958, he was the son of Dr. Stuart (third President of Lancaster Bible College) and Barbara (Rudisill) Lease. Besides his loving wife Bridget, he leaves behind two sons, Andrew J (AJ) Lease (Megan) and Henry (Hank) Lease. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Rebecca Brasch of FL.
Tim received his BS from Millersville University, his MA from Lancaster Bible College and his PhD from Lancaster Bible College/Capital Seminary. The majority of Tim’s life was spent in the hotel industry. He was also adjunct professor at HACC and his dream job, adjunct professor at Lancaster Bible College. He was a thoughtful man who demonstrated fairness, vision, energy and quiet strength. He had an innate ability to understand Scripture and apply it to everyday life. His love of people and desire to share life-changing truths with others propelled him particularly to help people overcoming addictions. This led to his role as assistant director of the Discovery Recovery Ministry at Grace Baptist Church and later at Grace and Hope Ministry at Calvary Church where he touched countless lives.
In his early years he enjoyed photography, reading, and relaxing at the beach. He later developed a love for cooking and making memories in special getaways with his wife. Tim was an avid sports fan, especially cheering on the Eagles and Yankees with his sons. He’s thankful for his family and many friends who encouraged and supported him, including those at the Hampton Inn and the Recovery Ministry. He’ll also be missed by his buddy and feline friend, Puma, who brought comfort to him.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday December 14, 2024 at Grace Point Church of Paradise, 10 S. Singer Ave, Paradise PA 17562, beginning at 10:30am. In remembrance of Tim’s life and love, the family asks that charitable donations be made to the ministries instrumental in his journey and where he enjoyed serving; Grace & Hope Ministry at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Rd, Lancaster PA 17601 or Discovery/Recovery Ministry at Grace Baptist Church, 1899 Marietta Ave., Lancaster PA 17603.

Dear Bridget, I never had the pleasure of knowing you and Tim, but Sharon, my former college roommate, has spoken so admirably about you both that I almost feel that I do know you somewhat. Please be assured of my prayers for you and Sharon. Tim is “in the everlasting arms of his heavenly Father, and you will experience that “Underneath are his everlasting arms .”

I am so grateful that Tim and I were partners in recovery ministry for so many years, first at Discovery Recovery and then later at Grace and Hope at Calvary Church. Thank you Tim for your impact in my life and the lives of so many others!

Hi Bridget,
I’m thiinking of you, I hope you’re ok, a strong woman for sure. I think you’ve handled things admirably. I leave for Africa tomorrow so I won’t be able to attend Tim’s celebration. I’ll be thinking of you, take care.

I’m so sorry to hear about Tim’s passing. We lost track of each other after leaving LBC and reconnected a few years ago on Facebook. I only learned a few months ago about his cancer. Praise the Lord for Tim’s love for his savior and how he served God by serving others. “When we all get to Heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be.”

Tim gave me my first opportunity to work in the hotel industry as he hired me in 1986 as a front desk clerk at the Quality Inn Sherwood Knoll. I was 16. He taught me a lot about the industry and I’m still a part of it today . We had a lot of good times in those walls. Lots of laughs, lots of knowledge. Be well in your afterlife Tim, you touched many! Peace and Blessings to your family.
