Timothy L. Shaub, 62

January 30, 2024

Timothy L. Shaub, affectionately known to many as “Shauby”, 62, of Lititz, passed away unexpectedly January 30, 2024, at Lancaster General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Lancaster, he was the son of Donald Shaub and the late Constance (Sharp) Shaub. He shared over 37 years of marriage with Mary Jo Shaub.

A lifelong resident of Lititz, he graduated from Warwick High School, class of 1980, where he played football and baseball. While attending Warwick, he started working for Versatek, where he dedicated over 40 years of loyal service.

Visiting the hunting cabin in Belleville to hunt or fish was where he found great peace, especially when he was able to share in that time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, deep sea fishing, and riding roller coasters with his daughter. Most will remember Shauby as a die-hard NY Giants and NY Yankees fan.

He will be sorely missed by his father Donald Shaub, husband of Pat; wife Mary Jo Shaub of Lititz; their daughter, Meagan Miller, wife of Nick of Manheim; a brother Stephen Shaub, husband of Sue of Lititz; and those who held his heart and called him “Pop”, Harper, and Max; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 from 2 – 4 PM, with a celebration of Tim’s life beginning at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Gift of Life program.

Mary Jo and Family – I just heard of Tim’s passing from a mutual friend.  I had know Tim for many years, casually, from his time working at Flory’s.  Tim was a super guy, huge smile and always so friendly and kind.  I used to give him grief about being a Giants fan and we enjoyed talking sports whenever I stopped in.  I actually ran into Tim about a year ago after having not seen him for awhile, and he was still as personable as ever.  It is shocking to hear of his sudden passing.  May God comfort your family in the difficult days ahead.

Although I have never been that close to either of you,  at least once a year I usually was.  To share a quote that will hopefully make you smile…. Great friends, make great stories, pretty certain I can write a best seller. And there would definitely be a chapter about you two.  My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Dear Mary Jo:
I never realized that you were Tim’s wife until you mentioned it to me as you were waiting on our Teacher’s Breakfast Group.  That was long time ago.  I was so shocked when I read Tim’s obit in Sunday Paper.  Please know you and your daughter have my deepest thoughts and sympathy.  It is so difficult to lose someone you love,  and I know especially so when at such a young age. I pray your memories will sustain you at this sad time.
Sincerely,
Gloria Anderson

This is hard to believe…I am so sorry for your loss.  Mary Jo, Tim was a gem.  I would be so lucky to have the kind of love you both shared.  He was my kissing buddy in high school.  We would laugh about that when we would all get together when I came home to visit.  You guys lived right down the street from my parents, Lawrence and Nancy Deppe.  That was the last time I saw Tim was when we all got together after my Mom passed on February 8th, 8 years ago.  Everybody loved Tim.  He was a kind Sole.  Things just don’t make sense a lot of the time…but know that he is with you always and safe til you meet again.  I am sorry that I won’t be able to make it home for the Service.  You all will be in my Prayers.  XO  Cathy
