Timothy J. Clark, Sr., 68
Timothy J. Clark, Sr., 68, formerly of Lancaster, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in Temple Hills, MD. He was the husband of Lois Street Clark. Tim worked in construction as a brick mason in Maryland.
Born and raised in Lancaster, Tim was the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy Cooper Clark. A graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School, he was a standout tackle on the football team and a shot putter on the undefeated 1961 track and field team. He was the District Three shot put champion and held the Central Penn League shot put record at 55’3″. Tim was baptized at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Lancaster.
In addition to his wife Lois, Tim is survived by 2 children, Timothy J., Jr., husband of Jelani, Upper Marlboro, MD and Lisa, wife of Godwin Enwerem, Connecticut; 2 step-children; 4 grandchildren; 4 siblings, Shirley Abernathy, Ralph E. “Mikey”, husband of Barbara, Jo-Anna Williams and Anthony all of Lancaster; and a host of nieces and nephews. Tim was predeceased by his siblings Connie, Kenneth and Jacob.
There will be no formal services. Interment in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers. My sincere sympathy and condolences to the family. I played football & track with Tim at McCaskey. I would like you to know I will miss him and remember him as being a mainstay on our teams. This is a sad day for all his teammates.
