Thomas E. Stevenson, III, 69
April 06, 2020
Thomas England Stevenson, lll, born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Thomas E. Stevenson, Jr. and the late Arline H. Stevenson(nee Hooper), passed away April 6th, 2020 at Lancaster General Hospital after a long battle with multiple illnesses. Tommy grew up in Collingdale, PA and was a 1969 graduate of Collingdale High School. He went on to work for Westinghouse before becoming a chef at Casey’s restaurant where he worked for many years before going out on his own. He was known for his free spirit, humor and his trademark handlebar mustache. Tom enjoyed fishing, and camping, but was most at home in the kitchen. He was an amazing chef, and wasn’t ashamed to tell you so. He loved to share his food with others, and was truly happy watching people enjoy his cooking. Tommy had his own recipe for the greatest cheesesteaks, and won Best in Philly twice for his crab cakes, among many other specialties, like his stuffed flounder, barbecue, soups and Jewish apple cake. Tommy loved spending time with family, especially the little people in his life. He could entertain a room with stories of his past, some that seemed to be so outrageous they couldn’t possibly be true. If you had the pleasure of being in his presence, you would have had some of the best laughs of your life, whether it be from a story, his quick wit, just a facial expression, or his infectious laugh. He would do anything to make people laugh, and always succeeded. He will be truly missed by those who loved him.
Predeceased by his parents Arline H. and Thomas E. Stevenson, Jr, sister Marlene Lipski, niece Danielle A. Carroll.
Survived by his longtime companion Loretta, daughter April Kessler, son-in-law Jeff Kessler, grandson Carter Thomas Kessler, brother Dan Stevenson, Esq.(Helen), sisters Ginger Stevenson Childs and Barbara Stevenson, niece and nephew Eileen Carroll Dolly and PJ Carroll, their spouses and children, many nieces and nephews, great nephews, great nieces, and cousins.

I knew Tom for over 20 years and must say he was a unique and real human being. We both had the love of boxing and I always enjoyed our talks of the boxing greats. I will definitely miss him.
