Thomas A. Ream, 63

October 30, 1958 - December 31, 2021

Thomas A. Ream, 63, of West Lampeter Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 31, 2021, at his home. Born in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Edgar R. and D. Jeanne (Treaster) Ream. Tom was the loving husband of Betty Lou (Sensenich) Ream, and they celebrated 39 years of marriage last July.

Tom graduated from Chief Logan High School in Lewistown with the Class of 1976. For more than 35 years, he served with the PA Army National Guard; most of that time was with the 3622nd Maintenance Co.; and he retired as a Staff Sergeant. From 1989 to the present, he was employed in the Public Works Dept of West Lampeter Township. Tom was a dedicated life member of the Lampeter Fire Co., having over 43 years of volunteer service as a firefighter, driver, Chief Engineer, Fire Police Captain and Trustee. He was also a member of the Willow Street Fire Co., and was serving as the Acting President of the Keystone Wild Fire Crew and as a Director of the Mill Creek Sportsmen’s Assoc. In his free time, Tom enjoyed making trips to Disney World, visiting his niece and her family in South Carolina, watching westerns on TV, listening to oldies music on the radio, Pepsi, Mustang cars, and rebuilding his 8N Ford tractor.

Along with his wife, Tom is survived by his brother Dennis K. Ream and his wife Cindy of Lewistown, three sisters, C. Dianne Bigelow of York, Joan Dress and her husband Charles of Lewistown, and Karen Ward and her husband Ron of York, and a daughter, Wendy Ream of Quarryville. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jeanne Platt, and brothers Bill, Jack and Don Bigelow.

Services for Tom will be held at Lampeter Fire Company No. 1, 851 Village Road, Lampeter, PA 17537 on Friday, January 7, 2022. A viewing for the public will take place from 9 – 11 AM, and services will begin at 11 AM. Private interment at the convenience of the family will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory are encouraged to be made to Lampeter Fire Company No. 1 at the above address.

Deepest condolences to the family. We will miss Tom’s humor and contributions as a Director at Mill Creek Sportsman Club,  as well as snow days when he would plow and stop for a cup of coffee and chat. Gone too soon but not forgotten, Rip Tom. John and Lisa Wolf
