Theresa A. Geraci, 95

November 22, 2014

Theresa A. Geraci, 95, (affectionately known as Mrs “G.”) of Lancaster, PA, surrounded by her loving family, was lifted up on the wings of the Angels and taken into the loving care of her God on Saturday, November 22, 2014.
She was the loving wife of the late Charles J. Geraci Sr, who passed away in 1982. Born in St Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Martha Long.
A woman of strong Christian faith, Theresa was an active and devoted member of the church she so loved, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She served on numerous committees throughout the years, and volunteered countless hours wherever needed.
Theresa was employed for several years in the grocery chain industry working at Best Markets, Food Fair, and Pantry Pride, in the Lancaster area until her retirement. Previously she had worked for Miesse Candies of Lancaster as well.
In the World War II years, Theresa was very involved in working and supporting the USO in Newfoundland, where she by chance met her future husband, Charles, who was serving in the US Army.
She was known for her great sense of humor, enjoyed spending time over the winter months in Florida and trips to Hawaii with her husband, Charles. Theresa loved the outdoors, enjoying boating, hunting and fishing, but the greatest importance and joy to Theresa was her family.
She is survived by her loving children: Charles J., Jr. married to Ellen M. Geraci of New Providence, Theresa H. married to Michael B. Ditzler of Lancaster, and George M. Geraci of Lancaster; her beloved grandchildren Nina, Melissa, and Harry and her beloved great granddaughter Miah. She is also survived by her nephew Harry Geraci and her niece Marianne Geraci Baldori. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel J. Geraci, who passed away on March 20, 2014.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 10-11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA with the Christian Prayer Service to follow at 11AM. Interment will be private for family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions in Theresa’s memory be made to Hospice and Community Care, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy, PA 17552.
