Theodore “Ted” T. Spadea, Jr., 76

Theodore T. Spadea, Jr., 76, of Lancaster, PA, passed away at Reading Hospital on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Ted shared 43 years of marriage with his wife Anne L. (Eberle) Spadea.
Born in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late Theodore T. Spadea, Sr. and Betty (Fuller) Spadea.
He attended St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church and Parochial School and served as altar boy in his youth, and then graduated from Lampeter-Strasburg High School in 1967.
Ted enlisted in the US Army in 1968, serving for 3 years with one year in Cu Chi, Vietnam with the 29th Infantry Division as a SP4 Field Wireman. Recently, he enjoyed annual Honor Bus trips to Washington DC to tour the Military Monuments on the Mall.
Following his enlistment, Ted worked at Armstrong World Industries in the inspection department at the Lancaster flooring plant for 35 years. After retirement he did DJ work for special gatherings.
Ted was an avid record collector and enjoyed listening to 50’s, 60’s, and early 70’s music. He also enjoyed antique markets, going on long walks, hiking rail trails, vacations to Asheville, NC, and collecting vintage paper Ephemera from Lancaster History.
In addition to his wife Anne, Ted’s family includes his daughter, Teresa Richardson, wife of Scott of Palmyra, son Ken Spadea, husband of Melissa of Stevens, and three grandchildren, Audrey, Lyndsey, and Brady Olzacki.
Ted’s family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 11 am with The Rev. Matthew C. Morelli officiating, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 East King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
